Elena Molokova was born in Russia in 1892. Her family was very wealthy and she was able to attend an elite girls’ school in Moscow. Molokova was talented in art and music, and she later studied art at the Moscow Conservatory.

Molokova’s career was interrupted by the outbreak of World War II. She was forced to evacuate her studio in Moscow and flee to the countryside. After the war ended, Molokova returned to Moscow and resumed her work as an artist. She continued to paint portraits, as well as landscapes and still lifes.
Molokova died in Moscow in 1977.
